The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Keyport Division (NUWCDIVKPT) Detachment Pacific (Code 04/TDC) functions as NUWC's forward presence in the Middle Pacific, Guam, and Western Pacific (WESTPAC) providing Detachment/Site Management in accordance with the Commanding Officer's (CO) letter of delegated authority to provide for program management, planning, policy, and execution of assigned programs and facility operations at the Detachment; monitor Safety and Occupational Health (SOH), physical and information security, personnel administration, including Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and professional development and morale, environmental compliance, appropriate interaction with all levels of Government and public affairs functions, site and area coordination for emergency preparedness, facilities management and space utilization, site material readiness, proper use of Government equipment and proper expenditure of funds, and adherence to good management practices and controls; manage the Detachment/On-Site Office (OSO); perform Navy programs duties under authority; manage military personnel allowance in accordance with Navy regulations, including Article 15 authority (non-judicial punishment); and serve as the Command's representative to the local installation CO or facility host in negotiating for utilities, security services, and facility maintenance. Divisions supported within this task are Hawaii Fleet Test and Operational Assessment Division (Code 24), Pearl Harbor Torpedo Division (Code 34), and Fleet Technical Support Division (Code 45). Reporting to the Program Manager, the Sr. Electronics Engineer provides engineering services support on the Hawaii Detachments Support Services contract. This position is located in Honolulu, HI. What You'll Do Support planning system upgrades and improvements to the Research Development Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) unclassified and classified networks, Secret Defense Research and Engineering Network, program and consultant support for Technical Analysis and Assessment, general system engineering (SE) and the development of processes and procedures to support future T&E requirements, and Fleet and Industrial Operations and Engineering program support. Support the Division Principal Engineer on oversight of the Division's investment portfolio. Support the Branch Heads on strategic planning, human capital strategy and new initiatives development. Work with the Technical Project Managers to ensure that projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget. Bid and proposal support if requested. Other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications: An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position. Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from an accredited university required. 10 years of engineering experience supporting US Navy/Allied Shipboard Test & Evaluation (T&E) activities. Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated problem-solving skills. Must possess strong time management skills. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment. Must be able to remain seated in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must also be able to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking. The ability to lift items that may weigh up to 50 pounds. The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, or recurring and considerable walking, stooping, bending, crouching, and climbing such as in performing regular shop activities, inspections, or to observe and study operations in an industrial or comparable work area or on-board submarines and in weapon facilities. Travel Required: 10% travel required. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future. Desired Qualifications: Prior experience supporting Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC), Keyport Division is desired.
