Job description

Cortina Solutions intends to add the Sea Based X-Band (SBX) Radar Mission Integration (SBX-MI) program to our corporate portfolio. The SBX-MI program performs Operations & Sustainment (O&S) onboard an advanced radar system mounted on a modified oil-drilling vessel designed for exceptional stability in high winds and storms within the PACOM Area of Responsibility that supports the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS). In performance of this mission, Cortina Solutions is seeking a Senior IT Technician to work onboard the SBX-1 platform. Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain and operate reception equipment; operate, maintain, and sustain the SATCOM system.
Monitor hardware performance and satellite link connectivity; perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
Report failures, degradation of services, and maintenance which impact the vessel operational readiness and mission support services.
Collect reliability, maintainability and availability data on the SATCOM system to assess any needed changes to maintenance, operation or design.
Provide monitoring, reporting and troubleshooting for external support systems.
Maintain the SBX Non-Mission Communications as a secure access-controlled IDE for hosting all CUI.
Provide on-site Help Desk support for all non-mission computer software, equipment, and components. Requirements: Active Secret Clearance
8 years' experience as IT Technician
Excellent written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills
Ability to effectively manage competing priorities is a must. Applicants must be able to work well alone and as part of a team
Leadership and mentoring experience with proven results
Experience working in a maritime environment
Travel up to 50% Preferred Skills & Experience: Bachelor's Degree in related field
Experience performing in a deployed remote work environment for extended periods of time Physical Requirements: Must not be hindered by motion sickness and must pass/maintain Maritime Medical Exam IAW Missile Defense Agency requirements
Must be able to balance, bend, lift up to 35 pounds, crouch, stretch, and kneel
Must be able to climb up to 10 flights of stairs regularly
Cannot be afraid of confined spaces
