Assistant Structural Superintendent Job Summary

We are seeking an Assistant Structural Superintendent to be responsible for assisting in the oversight and management of structural operations on various shipbuilding and repair projects. This role involves coordinating with the Structural Superintendent to ensure that all structural work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The Assistant Structural Superintendent will also help supervise the daily activities of structural teams, ensuring compliance with project specifications, schedules, and safety regulations.

Assistant Structural Superintendent Responsibilities

  • Assist the Structural Superintendent in planning, coordinating, and supervising all structural activities on assigned projects.
  • Ensure that all structural work is performed in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to structural teams, ensuring effective teamwork and productivity.
  • Monitor project schedules and progress, making adjustments as needed to meet deadlines.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with other departments and trades to ensure smooth workflow and project integration.
  • Assist in the preparation of project reports, including progress, quality, and safety documentation.
  • Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the course of the project.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and personnel involved.

Assistant Structural Superintendent Position Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or
  • Strong knowledge of structural techniques, tools, and materials
  • Familiarity with industry standards, codes, and regulations related to structural work
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for project management and reporting
