Summary You will serve as a Security Specialist (Information Operations / Operations Security) in the Assistant Chef of Staff, Information Environment Division of the MARINE FORCES PACIFIC. Duties You will provide advice, technical, assistance, and support to higher, adjacent and subordinate commands in the planning and implementation of information operations. You will plan, develop, coordinate, and implements information Operations / Operations Security plans in support of training exercise, combat, contingencies and operations. You will plan, develop, coordinates and implements Operations in the information environment. You will identify and plan for the application of time-critical countermeasures to mitigate information Operations / Operations Security vulnerabilities. You will review and interpret policy and program gaps and make recommendations on how to correct these. Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be a US Citizen. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing. You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: 1) Planning, Developing, coordinating and implementing Information Operations / Operations Security plans in support of training, exercises, combat, contingences and operations; 2) Identifying and analyzing Information Operations / Operations Security threats, in a variety of scenarios; 3) Analyzing force signatures and vulnerabilities, conducting a risk assessment and conveying that to the commander; and 4) identifying and planning for the application of time-critical countermeasures to mitigate Information Operations / Operations Security vulnerabilities. A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 8.90% will be added to the stated salary. COLA is subject to change at any time. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees. This position requires rotating shift work.
