Bishop & Company is recruiting for a Public Affairs/Communication Strategy and Operations Specialist for our DoD client on Camp Smith. This is a long-term W2 contract. Candidates must reside on Oahu by time of hire and be eligible to obtain a Secret Clearance.

About the Role:

As a Public Affairs/Communication Strategy and Operations Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in supporting our client's mission. This 100% onsite position at Camp Smith offers a unique opportunity to contribute to communication planning and integration and aligning Public Affairs and Communication Strategy and Operations (PA/COMMSTRAT) efforts with Higher and Adjacent Headquarters (HAHQ) and subordinate commands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance Public Affairs and Communication Strategy planning processes and procedures.
  • Support HAHQ and subordinate commands in planning to ensure effective employment of PA/COMMSTRAT resources.
  • Review and provide inputs on PA/COMMSTRAT aspects of regional plans and operations.
  • Offer expert advice and recommendations on PA/COMMSTRAT doctrine and policy for joint commands and operations, especially involving Marine Corps equities.
  • Develop positions and propose changes to existing or new Information-related doctrine as required.
  • Assist in the continued development and execution of PA/COMMSTRAT actions to support long-range vision and strategic plans.
  • Participate in cross-organizational working groups, representing command PA/COMMSTRAT equities within the service, joint, and civilian communities.
  • Apply accepted and proposed planning frameworks to address complex conceptual and deliberate planning problems.
  • Provide technical leadership and direction to MARFORPAC and subordinate Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) staff personnel in the development, revision, and review of OPLANS and CONPLANS and the planning and assessment of OAIs.
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform communication strategies and ensure alignment with MARFORPAC objectives.
What You'll Need:
  • Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and knowledge of public affairs protocols.
  • Extensive experience working with the Department of Defense, INDOPACOM, and the USMC.
  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively collaborate and contribute to a team.
  • Knowledge of the U.S. military structure, culture, and language.
  • Ability to develop and brief technically complex information to senior military and civilian leadership.
Location: Camp Smith, Oahu, Hawaii
Compensation: $112,000 - $135,000 annually
Type: Full-time, Onsite
Clearance: DoD Secret Clearance required
