Job description

A TEKsystems client is looking for an IT Support Specialist to support their High Assurance Computing Division. This person must have an active secret clearance and will need to be on site 5 days a week in Smyrna, GA Responsibilities:
- Provide unit level support in the installation, operation and maintenance of computer systems.
- Position typically addresses issues of moderate complexity, receiving general instructions on routine work and more specific direction on new assignments.
- The affiliate will interact on a consistent basis with: users within assigned unit which can include management, faculty and staff personnel.
- Install, maintain and upgrade workstation and peripheral hardware and software.
- Respond to and resolve workstation, application and server related problems.
- Update desktop software/applications; maintain documentation on installed applications.
- Provide users with assistance in working in specific applications.
- Maintain/troubleshoot office related equipment and applications such as copiers, fax machines, printers, building access system and email accounts.
- Affiliate may be asked to perform other work in this area to support the organization. Requirements:
- Candidates must have an active Secret clearance
- Experience supporting Windows 10 and 11 environment
- Experience with help desk - basic user troubleshooting, software patching & upgrades, system deployments (including hardware, operating system, and software installation)
- Understanding of Linux - Will be assisting with Linux deployments, will train but need to have knowledge of Linux
- Experience working with STIGs, racking/stacking, Active Directory - reset passwords, create accounts, etc.
- Associate's Degree and 2-5 years of experience or equivalent combination or education and experience Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
