PURPOSE:

The Marketing & Communications Leader is responsible for the presentation of Discover Life Church, its vision and mission, to the outside community and internal church family. This role ensures that the brand and image of the ministry remains relevant and consistent in purpose and quality across all mediums. Responsibilities for this position includes creating and maintaining effective communication platforms and processes to support the initiatives of the ministry.

EXPECTATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The ideal candidate can identify the needs of DLC's target audience and determine the best strategy to reach them. With proficient written & verbal communications skills, this candidate is self-motivated to grow with the ever-changing landscape of the media & technology.

• Build and lead a team of volunteers to support the creative strategy, brand management and communications of DLC
• Oversee implementation of marketing & the overall brand development and adherence both within the ministry and outside
• Provide leadership and implementation of church communication strategy suggesting the use of most efficient and effective platforms
• Produce graphic design (digital & print) pieces promoting DLC initiatives
• Oversee video and photo capturing/editing for DLC events & gatherings

• Produce content and oversee Social Media accounts (Facebook, Instagram,

  YouTube, DLC App)

• Maintain church website and other online platforms (social media, app, etc.)

• Collaborate with IT and online host to develop & support online church

  community

• Create & send bi-weekly and monthly e-newsletters

• Design and implement new communications systems as needed to help

  church members engage in ministry

• Develop and maintain a communications calendar
• Collaborate with various division ministry teams to support their marketing, media and communication goals

• As a member of the DLC staff and leadership cabinet (iLead), the Marketing & Communications leader will attend weekly staff meetings as well as monthly & quarterly training sessions.

• Born-again Christian who loves Jesus and the Church
• Committed to living a life (publicly & privately) that reflects God's character and standard of living outlined in the bible.
• Conviction to live above reproach; engaging in activities that glorify God & abstaining from those that do not glorify God.
• Commitment to Membership with regular attendance & participation within the community Discover Life Church
• Adherence to and support of the DLC Statement of Faith, Core Values, & Culture Obedience & Commitment to practicing tithing and offerings.
• An ongoing display of Christ-like behavior; treating others with respect, compassion, and integrity.
• Model Transparency, unity, teamwork, faithfulness, servant-leadership, & accountability
• Positive people skills - kind, gracious, and personable demeanor; calm under pressure and comfortable with challenges
• Well-organized and detail-oriented
• Ability to anticipate future needs and begin to strategize ways to find a resolution Ability to work in an extremely fast paced environment.
• Availability to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Able to develop & have fun while collaborating in a fast-paced team environment.

TECHNICAL:

• Have experience using both Macs & PCs • Knowledge of / Ability to Learn:

  • Ministry experience is a plus
