Active Minerals International is seeking a Maintenance Planner to perform these key functions in our Gordon GA kaolin clay processing location.

Active Minerals International (AMI) is a worldwide leader in specialty industrial minerals. The company specializes in the production and marketing of high purity kaolin and gel quality attapulgite clay minerals for fiberglass, concrete, plaster, paints, rubber and agriculture industries.

A. Position Summary:

Processes purchase orders and work orders and maintains related records. Researches and negotiates with suppliers to obtain prices and specifications. Evaluates the need for replacement parts and places orders. Assigns work orders and issues various EHS permits. Provides routine administrative support.

B. Essential Functions:

  • Enters all handwritten work orders into the computerized maintenance management system
  • Prints weekly preventative maintenance schedules and assign them according to available personnel
  • Prints all new work orders received; assigns to appropriate maintenance personnel
  • Creates new work orders for work found during preventative maintenance and assign to maintenance personnel
  • Tracks parts inventory located in the maintenance shops; identify any missing items
  • Tracks and acknowledge trends and forward to management for review
  • Serves as a backup to generate the repair and maintenance cost reports as needed
  • Maintains files and categorize reference materials on equipment at local plant
  • Issues permits and certify personnel with site specifics
  • Maintains records of yearly site specifics with the EHS Specialist for visitors to the local plant
  • Adheres to all QMS procedures and documentation as applicable to position and department and as required by ISO
  • Count, sort, or weigh incoming goods to verify receipt of items against shipping notice.
  • Record and check quantity and quality of goods received for conformity to purchase orders and specifications.
  • Complete Corrective Action Preventive Actions (CAPAs) if needed.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

C. Job Requirements and Skill Sets:

  1. Minimum high school diploma or GED.
  2. Two-year technical degree or related experience preferred.
  3. Experience in preventive maintenance programs, inventory management, materials control procedures, and the purchasing of maintenance- and office-related supplies, parts, and tooling.
  4. Proficient on computers and experience with Microsoft Office applications, including accurate data entry skills.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional organizational and planning skills necessary to be successful.
  6. Respirator Fit Test is required at hire; no facial hair can interfere with the seal of the respirator during pre-hire and annual fit test screening.

Working Conditions/Environment:

Work is performed in a production environment. Position requires lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying up to 55 lbs. on a regular basis. Able to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop and climb up to 70 feet. Able to operate hand and foot controls simultaneously. Manual dexterity required for operation of hand controls and/or computer keyboard. Good vision and hearing are also required.
