SALARY RANGE - $42,020.99 to $63,135.07

Purpose of Classification:

The purpose of this job is to provide oversight for the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department's (AFRD) Mobile Medic Response Teams (MMRT), Basic Life Support, customer service-related duties and administrative services as needed at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (H-JAIA). This position serves the purpose of enhancing, ensuring, and maintaining the quality of Emergency Medical Services delivery and capability. Duties include but are not limited to maintaining logs and records; performing quality assurance to MMRT members; treating internal and external stakeholders for medical emergencies; managing stockroom inventory; ensuring maintenance and care of equipment; answering the telephones; maintaining all certifications and utilizing proper documentation procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Emergency Medical Services Duties:

  • Performs generally accepted emergency medical care in compliance with the Fulton County Emergency Medical Services Clinical Care Guidelines
  • Complies with and follows all AFRD Standard Operational Procedures and Standard Operational Guidelines and continuously reviews them for updates and amendments
  • MMRT members are responsible for routine repairs such as flat tires, minor brake adjustments, lubrication and cleaning of bicycle, including a pre-inspection checkoff
  • Adhere to the AFRD Uniform and Dress Code and Appearance Policy
  • Greets visitors; ascertains nature of business; assists and/or directs visitors to the appropriate person
  • Train new employees and staff regarding the various duties of the position
  • Provide on scene supervision of medical treatments and Standing Orders utilization
  • Monitors radio traffic for appropriate emergency medical response assignments
  • Communicates the proper assignment that should be delegated to support various medical emergencies
  • Utilizes all available methods to aid in resolution of employee infractions to include education, remediation, and corrective action recommendations

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensures that all requests and inquiries are handled efficiently, timely and with accurate information.
  • Corrects errors and verifies records contain the correct demographic information as well as billing and medical histories
  • The Supervisor shall meet periodically with the AFRD medical director, EMS supervisors and the Aviation EMS Section to review patient care charts.

Productivity and Accountability:

Compiles information to assist department with producing timely reports according to deadlines. Reconciles and posts accurate information to all accounts on time.

Record-Keeping and Documentation:

Prepares and updates daily check-off sheets and records any discrepancies to the proper supervisor.

Marginal Job Functions:

Performs other related duties as required.

Knowledge of Job:

Has considerable knowledge of EMS care as necessary in the completion of daily responsibilities
