Job description

The Accounting Manager is responsible for timely and accurate financial reporting of assigned properties for themselves and that of their Property Accountants.

Essential functions:

• Manages and supports a group of property accountants
• Assists in hiring, training and developing team members
• Oversee the preparations of properties' financial statements
• Manage cash management for assigned portfolio
• Assist in quarterly lender reporting
• Assist in reviewing of properties' budget preparation
• Oversee the preparation of CTI reconciliations
• Quarterly reserve requests to Lender
• Assist in preliminary/annual property-level audit and tax prep

Responsibilities:

• Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation
• Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices
• Participate in strategic financial projects including upgrades/phase-two implementation of ERP software
• Ensure compliance with internal control policies in a SOX environment
• Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance
• Interacts at all levels and with budget owners or other stakeholders to produce timely, efficient and accurate month-end close and all internal management and financial reporting through annual reporting
• Assist executives with special projects as needed
