Job description

Overview:
This position is responsible for analyzing and maintaining all building and equipment rental leases and ensuring accurate and timely reporting of payments. They will also be responsible for tracking deferred rent, reconciling property taxes, preparation of journal entries, preparation of various financial reports and analysis and participation in activities related to month end close.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Reading all building and equipment rental leases.

Analyzing &: summarizing lease detail to note monthly payments, rent escalations, payment of

operating expenses and real estate taxes, lease expiration dates, etc.

Creating new deferred rent schedules when applicable and posting necessary month end entries related to schedules.

Coordinating with Legal and Accounts Payable departments to ensure obligations are paid in accordance with leases - (Real Estate taxes and Operating Expenses charged by landlord).

Ensure annual tenant reconciliations for real estate taxes and operating expenses are properly accrued.

Responsible for booking and updating properly tax reconciliation schedules with information submitted from vendor.

Responsible for analysis and entries relating to two joint ventures.

Creating managed center invoices on a monthly basis and posting all necessary entries.

Reviewing all new capital leases when executed.

Responsible for making all capital lease entries during month end close and updating reconciliations.

Responsible for all long-term asset entries and updating reconciliations.

Update last 12-month rental schedule for monthly and quarterly reporting.

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Required knowledge, skills and ability:

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong organizational skills.

Works well independently or in a team environment.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

PC Knowledgeable: Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.

Available for OT during month end close (10 business day close), quarterly reviews and annual audit.

Must pass basic accounting assessment

Education:

Bachelors degree in Accounting.

CPA or CPA track preferred.

Experience:

3-5 years of general accounting experience.

Previous property accounting experience a plus.

Experience in Healthcare industry a plus but not required.

Great Plains experience a plus but not required.
