Overview

Stryten Energy is a $1 billion leader in stored electrical energy solutions, including batteries and associated equipment and services for the transportation and industrial markets. We have over 3,000 employees working at manufacturing sites throughout the country.

Stryten's corporate headquarters is located just north of Atlanta in Alpharetta, GA. The internship will begin in May of 2025 and end in August 2025 and will be full time (40 hours a week) with expectations of being onsite each day, no remote work. This is a paid opportunity, but housing is not provided so you must have both housing and transportation.

The Cost Accounting Intern will learn product costing and how to maintain the bill of materials, prepare daily reports for management, prepare journal entries during the month-end close process, prepare monthly inventory reconciliations, and perform other functions and analyses involving inventory accounting. Responsibilities will vary depending on available projects. The program allows interns to present streamlined reports, process enhancements, and other contributions during the summer to company leadership.

Responsibilities

Possible Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain the bill of materials (BOM) in J.D Edwards or IQMS to ensure proper inventory costing at the manufacturing plants.
  • Prepare reports for management and ad hoc analyses as required.
  • Prepare journal entries timely and accurately during the month-end close process.
  • Reconcile the General Ledger inventory accounts to the perpetual and other support monthly and explain variances.
  • Monitor key General Ledger accounts daily for problems with production, receiving and shipping, and analyze other accounts monthly as required.
  • Analyze and adjust the obsolescence reserve monthly.
  • Manage the accounting for toll accounts.
  • Assist with questions and analysis regarding product costing.

Qualifications

We are looking for students:

  • Progressing towards a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or an audit-related field
  • Graduating between DEC 2025 and May 2027
  • With a GPA of 3.0 or greater
  • You must have housing and transportation
  • The position is required to work onsite daily

During your internship, you will be exposed to the below areas:

  • Accounting, Cost Accounting and Finance concepts
  • Collecting and analyzing data, evaluating information and systems, and drawing logical conclusions
  • Excel Modeling
  • Tableau
  • Hyperion
