Position Overview:

Reporting to the Director of Inventory & Reverse Logistics, the Manager of Inventory Control plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate inventory records, optimizing stock levels, and ensuring efficient inventory management processes across the organization. This position is responsible for overseeing a team of inventory analysts and coordinators to maintain high levels of inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.

What You'll Do:

  • Inventory Accuracy & Control: This function involves overseeing cycle counts, physical inventories, and implementing processes to maintain high inventory accuracy. The manager leads initiatives to identify and resolve discrepancies, ensuring that inventory records accurately reflect physical stock levels.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: The manager spends a significant portion of time analyzing inventory data, identifying trends, and generating reports. This includes monitoring key performance indicators, interpreting data to make informed decisions, and presenting findings to leadership.
  • Inventory Policy and Procedure Development: Develop standardized protocols for inventory control, cycle counting, receiving, and handling of discrepancies. This includes researching industry best practices, adapting them to Duluth's specific needs, and ensuring these policies align with regulatory requirements and company objectives. The manager also creates training materials and guides to support the implementation of these policies across the organization. Additionally, they regularly review and refine these procedures to incorporate process improvements and technological advancements, ensuring the company maintains best-in-class inventory management practices.
  • Process Improvement and Technology Implementation: Identifying opportunities for process enhancement and leading the implementation of new inventory management technologies are ongoing responsibilities. This includes evaluating current processes, researching best practices, and overseeing the rollout of new systems or procedures to improve inventory control efficiency.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working closely with various departments such as Supply Chain, Warehousing, Finance, IT, internal/external Audit teams, and Merchandising to align inventory.

What We're Looking For:

  • 5+ years of experience in inventory management or supply chain operations

  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems, tools, and techniques

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in data analysis and reporting

  • Experience with inventory management systems and ERP software

  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of inventory control best practices and methodologies
  • Experience in working with finance teams to translate inventory ops into financial impact
  • Experience in working with internal and external audit partners for fiscal quarter and annual SOX compliance reports
  • Certification in inventory management (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) is a plus
  • High degree of travel

Compensation Range: $85,000 - $106,000/year

Compensation is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
