We are seeking a Grant Billing Specialist to join our Finance team. The Grant Billing Specialist will assist with financial record keeping and reporting for The Lord's Place to provide accurate and timely financial reporting, and assist the Assistant Director of Finance as directed in the general operations of accounting. The hours are generally 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.


Some responsibilities include:

  • Prepare journal entries.
  • Coordinate and/or prepare monthly grant reimbursement invoices for the Controller.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations, including balances for all restricted grants.
  • Prepare monthly program profit & loss (budget vs. actual) reports and interfaces with program teams to ensure an understanding of financial data for the purposes of managing budgets.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet support schedules.
  • Provide back-up support to the Finance Assistants for payroll, A/P, and A/R.
  • Review monthly expenses to ensure the source is appropriate.
  • Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Finance, confers with personnel affected by grant-funded programs to outline how funds are to be used, and explain statistical information necessary to comply with funding agreements.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Finance according to business needs.


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred or associate degree in accounting, or comparable years of experience.
  • Minimum of three years' accounting experience required.
  • Fund accounting and progressive government grant billing experience or equivalent preferred.
  • A passion for numbers and a willingness to proactively take ownership of financial records and ensure data integrity.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Proficient computer skills and intermediate Excel experience required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
