Service Manager Job Description:

As a Service Manager for our Certified Fleet Service, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective management of our maintenance and repair operations. You will lead a team of skilled technicians and support staff to ensure that all vehicles in our fleet are maintained to the highest standards of safety and reliability.

Service Manager Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all aspects of the service department, including scheduling, workflow management, and quality control.

Develop and implement maintenance programs to ensure that all vehicles are serviced according to manufacturer guidelines and industry best practices.

Manage inventory levels of parts and supplies to ensure timely completion of repairs and minimize downtime.

Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as repair turnaround time, first-time fix rate, and customer satisfaction.

Train and mentor service technicians to enhance their skills and performance.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

Collaborate with other departments, such as fleet operations and procurement, to optimize fleet performance and reduce operating costs.

Act as a point of contact for clients, addressing their service needs and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.

Stay current with developments in automotive technology and industry trends.

Requirements

Service Manager Qualifications:

GED or High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred

Previous experience in automotive service management, preferably in a fleet maintenance environment.

Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.

Proficiency in fleet management software and other relevant computer applications.

Knowledge of vehicle diagnostic tools and equipment.

Understanding of regulatory requirements related to fleet maintenance and safety.

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.

Minimum 4 years of automotive/truck repair experience required

Minimum 2 years of progressive leadership experience

Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Service Manager Physical Requirements:

Ability to spend prolonged periods of time standing, sitting, or walking

Ability to work in enclosed environments exposed to excessive noise, truck shop environment, and cold or heat

Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
