Summary:
Coordinate production resources to meet schedule, quality and efficiency requirement. Plan, direct, or coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for daily production planning, scheduling, training, quality, efficiency, corrective discipline, and delivery reliability on 2 shifts covering all production area work centers.
Direct Production Supervisors on 2 shifts; interact with other departments (i.e., Quality, Shipping, Sales, Planning, Purchasing) in order to facilitate production requirements.
Assist Director of Manufacturing as required.
Maintain Production related KPI's
Direct or coordinate production, processing, distribution, or marketing activities of industrial organizations.
Develop budgets or approve expenditures for supplies, materials, or human resources, ensuring that materials, labor, or equipment are used efficiently to meet production targets.
Review processing schedules or production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, or duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.
Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.
Hire, train, evaluate, or discharge staff or resolve personnel grievances.
Initiate or coordinate inventory or cost control programs.
Prepare and maintain production reports or personnel records.
Set and monitor product standards, examining samples of raw products or directing testing during processing, to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality.
Develop or implement production tracking or quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, or other operational reports to detect production problems.
Review plans and confer with research or support staff to develop new products or processes.
Coordinate or recommend procedures for facility or equipment maintenance or modification, including the replacement of machines.
Maintain current knowledge of the quality control field, relying on current literature pertaining to materials use, technological advances, or statistical studies.

Required Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite - particularly Excel, Word and Outlook
- Experience with ERP systems - Epicor preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Six Sigma experience, Black Belt certification preferred.
- Deep understanding and implementation of lean manufacturing principles.
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, and hands-on problem-solving skills.
- Effective coach and mentor, lead teams and hold accountable to achieve business plans.
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, stand and walk.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
