Job description

SNI Technology has partnered with a construction company in East Orlando who is seeking a Electrical drafter to join their team. The ideal candidate has over 2 years of experience.

Job Summary: This position is responsible to plan and conduct independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of electrical schematics, electrical distribution systems installation procedures and criteria. Devise new approaches to problems, and prepare or modify drawings, while working under the direction of the Electrical Engineer.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:Electrical Drafter

  • Requires a broad knowledge of Electrical Drafting techniques including electrical symbols and placement in the Schematics & Diagrams, solid knowledge of principles and practices of related technical areas.
  • Requires a broad knowledge of the application of engineering to plant constructability as applied to construction methods and materials.
  • Performs assignments independently with instruction as to the general results expected and with guidance from Department Manager and Electrical Engineer on unusual or complex problems.
  • Provides technical direction to other Drafters, Designers.
  • Design and coordinate work with Drafters, Designers, and Engineers.
  • Assume the lead Electrical Drafter role on assigned projects.
  • Plan, schedule, Design Electrical Schematics and Diagrams and coordinate with Engineer and Project Managers.
  • Ensure proper interdisciplinary coordination and effective communication on projects.
  • Review Job Submittal packages, Customer furnished information to plan and design work, make recommendations.
  • Requires extensive and independent contact with project field personnel.
  • Participate in job site visits to collect design and engineering data.
  • Obey the safety standards of the company and follow local, state, and federal regulations
  • Responsible for any other tasks that may arise; at any time

Technical:

  • AutoCAD, Inventor & Auto Cad Electrical a plus.
  • Experience in working with multiple discipline projects.
  • Excellent Auto Cad & Microsoft Office software skills.
  • Knowledgeable in National Fire Protection Association/National Electrical Code.

Minimum Requirements/Experience:

  • Associates Degree in drafting/design and 2 years' experience
  • Prefer direct experience with structural steel fabrication
  • Equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Must pass a drug screen and background check for employment

Required Education:

  • Associates Degree in drafting/design and 2 years' experience
