Development Manager for Land Development - Architecture

Our client, a leading architecture firm, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Development Manager for their Land Development department. This role involves managing the site development group and coordinating with various departments to ensure successful project execution. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in commercial development, strong leadership skills, and a thorough understanding of site development and public approval processes.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Manage the site development group, including Site Development and Due Diligence Coordinators.

  • Coordinate with the Site Planning Manager, Head of Production, and Civil Department Manager to ensure project alignment.

  • Interact with the Regional Director of Real Estate, Director of Construction, Real Estate Managers, Project Managers, and Store Planning department.

  • Assess workload and determine the need for additional staff, including conducting interviews and managing the hiring process.

  • Resolve departmental problems related to projects and personnel.

  • Establish standards, procedures, and training programs for the department.

  • Manage projects within budget and contract terms, ensuring timely and accurate completion.



Required Skills and Qualifications:



  • Bachelors degree in architecture, landscape architecture, civil engineering, planning, or a related field.

  • 15-20 years of experience in commercial development.

  • Licensure in the respective discipline is preferred.

  • Strong technical experience, including knowledge of real estate site development and public approval processes.

  • Thorough understanding of building codes, zoning regulations, and approval processes related to development services.

  • Good understanding of civil site requirements.

  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, 3D Studio or Form-Z, Photoshop, PowerPoint, MS Word, and MS Excel.

  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams across multiple disciplines effectively.

  • Willingness to travel throughout the United States.
