Job description

  • Solid Payroll Tax knowledge at employer level quarterly tax returns, filings, exceptions, setting up new accounts with the various tax agencies

  • Solid Payroll processing knowledge and payroll tax knowledge at the employee level - tax corrections, W2-Cs

  • Intermediate Excel skills - VLOOKUPS, XLOOKUPS, pivot tables

  • Experience in payroll tax and payroll processes in a large company over 10k employees

  • Experience with ERP systems for Payroll/HR

  • Experience with ADP Smart Compliance

  • Ability to meet deadlines on a regular basis

  • Attention to details is critical for this role

  • Ability to work well individually and part of the team

  • The Payroll Tax Accountant is responsible for payroll tax payments processing and reconciliation, proactive collaboration with customer and key internal business partners, and to ensure payroll tax compliance for multiple Client

  • This role requires independent thinking and actions in handling payroll tax analysis and validations.

  • Solid knowledge of federal, state and local tax compliance is a must.

  • Works as a team player and maintains a positive and productive work environment.

    Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Payroll Tax reconciliation on a quarterly and annual basis

  • Processing Payroll Tax payments

  • Ensure Payroll Tax Compliance at the employer and employee level

  • Maintains the controls and compliance documentation for payroll taxes

  • Resolve agency notices and tax tracers, performs root cause analysis and ensure timely resolution

  • Review and assist in payroll tax GL reconciliations, ICC billing and funding

  • Resolve employees tax escalations provide quality, reliable solutions to critical issues

  • Responsible for Payroll Tax audits

  • Provides support for mergers and acquisitions from a payroll tax perspective

  • Review current payroll tax processes and identify process improvements, standardization and ensure tax compliance

  • Provide quality assurance testing on payroll tax updates

  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external business partners

  • Participates in the Payroll Year-End processing

  • W2 and W2c management

  • Communicate effectively with various levels of management to ensure high level of customer support and positive customer interactions

  • Maintain compliance with all payrolls regulatory and Client requirements
