Job description

The Opportunity:

Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Academic Support Services, this position reviews Programs of Study and evaluates incoming transfer credit for equivalency with courses required by UCF and updates the Graduate Plan of Study (GPS/degree audit). Explains and/or clarifies academic policies/procedures related to transfer credit to students, faculty, and program staff. Oversees preparations and attends commencement. Provides quality customer service to graduate students, faculty, and program staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews, evaluates, and processes graduate level transfer credit requests. Resolves GPS (degree audit) related issues regarding graduate transfer credit.

  • Assists in evaluating and processing Programs of Study/eForms. Ensures GPS (degree audit) course substitutions/course moves comply with the Catalog Year/Requirement Term, as well as with graduate policy. Assists with monitoring and enforcing 7-Year Rule and ensuring timely completion of graduate programs.

  • Processes late Intent to Graduate (ITG) requests, contacts students and major advisers regarding hooding ceremony, and communicates with college contacts at each phase of the graduation certification process. Conducts the final certification process each semester and awards degrees once all requirements are met.

  • Assists in completing the grade change process for graduate courses in collaboration with faculty, department chairs, and deans as well as the Registrar's office. Notifies students regarding grade change.

  • Updates the student database (PeopleSoft) and document imaging system (ViewStar). Removes Holds from student accounts after completion of required forms and trainings.

  • Provides quality customer service to graduate students via phone, email, or in person. Communicates with graduate department faculty and staff as well as other university offices to resolve student issues regarding admission, student services, academic progress, and graduation. Refers students to others for appropriate assistance.

  • Conducts degree certification, graduation and related POS eForm training for college partners across all academic colleges, when needed.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information .

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience with data entry.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to function autonomously.
