MoveAmerica is seeking a Critical and Emerging Technology (CET) Coordinator for the Rapid Innovation Accelerator- Miami (RIA-M). The coordinator would seek out and identify businesses working in technical areas developing cutting edge technology that could potentially provide warfighters with new or improved capabilities. The coordinator will primarily identify companies in Miami Dade County Florida but will also have the capability to identify opportunities nationwide. The CET coordinator role involves fostering strong relationships with academic institutions, other technology hubs and industry leaders in critical technology sectors aligned with DoD and Federal needs. The position requires experience in conducting and managing research and development programs, planning strong communication, and project management.
Responsibilities include creating processes to technologically scan and identify partnerships with small businesses, academia, and non-traditional research entities supporting the strategic objectives of the RIA-M. The role would involve making informed recommendations for Miami Dade County-based economic development investments to stimulate technology-driven and innovation-centric growth, enhancing Miami Dade County's capacity to commercialize, manufacture, and deploy new technologies.
The candidate would also be responsible for developing relationships with a nationwide network of technical experts to ensure the RIA-M is able to meet diverse member requirements while proactively identifying and securing funding opportunities supporting CET suppliers aligned with Miami Dade County capabilities and DoD or Federal Government needs. Responsibilities:
• Evaluate and organize target CET companies and create effective grouping that can operate collaboratively to develop new and advanced capabilities. • Build and maintain relationship with academic institutions, other tech hubs and industry leaders in critical technology sectors aligned with DoD and Federal needs.
• Maintain a list of critical and emerging technologies and be able to delineate a process of maintaining awareness of this changing landscape.
• Create a process of being able to seek out and identify small businesses, academia, or nontraditional research that aligns with the focus of the RIA-M.
• Make recommendations for Miami Dade County-based economic development investments to drive technology- and innovation-centric growth. Look for ways the RIA-M can strengthen Miami's capacity to commercialize, manufacture, and deploy the HUBs focus. • Provide expert guidance and support to small businesses engaged in and requesting technical support from the Technology Hub. • Collaborate with technology hub program participants to create comprehensive support plans tailored to their specific needs. • Develop relationships with and coordinate additional sources of technical expertise across the nation enabling the RIA-M to adapt to any member requirements.
• Responsible for identifying and securing funding opportunities to support CET initiatives. Required Qualifications:
• Direct experience conducting research and development of advanced technical capabilities or direct management of technical professionals conducting research and development of advanced technical capabilities.
• Five years of experience as a scientist, engineer, and/or technology developer, successfully working in research and development.
• Experience in federal government contracting procedures and policies associated with system development, science and technology, and basic research.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or other scientific field. • Excellent relationship management skills and ability to liaise with diverse partners.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Integrity and ethical conduct in handling sensitive information. Desired Qualifications:
• Previous DAWIA certification in Engineering and Technical Management, Program Management or PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
• Experience in scope planning, estimation, work breakdown structure development, change management, cost analysis, monitoring, and reporting.
• Experience assisting small businesses with navigating government contracting processes.
• Able to obtain an active TS/SCI clearance.
