The Network Engineer II is responsible for the support, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's network infrastructure. This role focuses on ensuring reliable and secure network operations across on-premises and cloud environments, with particular emphasis on optimizing performance and supporting day-to-day network operations. The Network Engineer II works closely with senior engineers and other IT teams to support network projects, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the network.

Your Responsibilities on the Team
Network Implementation:
Assist in the deployment of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
Participate in the implementation and configuration of network solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and best practices.
Support the deployment and optimization of cloud network services, particularly in Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS environments.
Contribute to the deployment of Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) solutions to improve network efficiency and performance.
Assist in the implementation of cloud connectivity solutions, optimizing for performance, security, and cost-effectiveness.
Operations and Support:
Provide Tier 2 support for network-related issues, troubleshooting and resolving problems to minimize downtime.
Monitor network performance, using tools to identify and address potential issues proactively.
Assist in the administration of network security services, including updating rules and filters to maintain a strong security posture.
Support network infrastructure maintenance activities, including but not limited to upgrades and vulnerabilities patches.
Process Improvement and Standardization:
Contribute to the development and enforcement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for network operations.
Identify opportunities for process improvements within the network team, supporting initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
Assist in maintaining network documentation up-to-date, including diagrams and standard operating procedures.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Experience: 3-5 years of relevant work experience in network engineering, with exposure to both on-premises and cloud environments.
Certifications: Certifications such as Cisco CCNA, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals, or similar are preferred.
Skills and Expertise:
Networking Technologies: Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
Cloud Networking: Basic understanding of cloud networking concepts, with hands-on experience in Azure and AWS environments.
Security: Knowledge of network security best practices, including service administration and basic security audits.
Technical Proficiency: Experience with Cisco/Meraki, network monitoring tools, and SD-WAN solutions.
Troubleshooting: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve network issues efficiently.
Personal Attributes:
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with senior engineers, IT teams, and other stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in network configurations and documentation.
Adaptability: Ability to adapt to new technologies and processes in a dynamic work environment.
Additional Requirements:
Continuous Learning: Commitment to staying current with industry trends and pursuing relevant certifications and training.
Travel: Willingness to travel occasionally to support network installations or upgrades at remote locations.

Physical & Office/Site Presence Requirements:
This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the incumbent to have the ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and carry up to 25 lbs. Finger dexterity is necessary. 10-20% of travel is required.
