Overview:
The newly-created Accounting Policy & Procedure function will drive the accounting controls program over financial reporting for Lakeview Loan Servicing, LLC ("Lakeview") through a culture of continuous inspection of our accounting policies, processes, systems, and key business initiatives. Lakeview is one the largest owners of mortgage servicing rights (MSRs) in the country. We are seeking a manager to take ownership of efforts to start and manage the review, process implementation, and documentation of Lakeview's accounting policies and procedures initiatives. In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn about our businesses and meet a wide range of stakeholders. To meet the demands of the role, you should be able to translate risks into business issues, resulting in recommendations and documentation. The salary range for this role is $120,000 to $135,000 with an annual bonus; however, Bayview considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilites, a candidate's work experience, education/training, location and key skills. The role is fully remote, unless you live in the Miami or Denver areas and they would be expected to work hybrid 3 days a week in the office.
The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who can work independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with limited supervision.
Comfortable interacting with business leaders
Experience with business processes, control environment process documentation, and control mapping
Understanding of accounting concepts and principles, especially in the area of mortgage finance
Experience in deep-dive analysis and desire to problem-solve
Analytical decision-making with a demonstrated ability to drive issues to completion
We value personality, insight, intellectual flexibility, and sound business judgment
Responsibilities:
Works with the process owners to perform walkthroughs of internal control documentation, ensuring that documentation is complete, properly supported, controls are performed as documented, and verifying the controls address the relevant risks
Ensures that control issues are tracked and action plans to remediate are appropriate and implemented timely
Provides guidance to business lines and management in matters related to internal controls and accounting policies based on acquired technical and company knowledge. Supports the business in identifying risk and ensuring controls mitigate the risk, along with the appropriate application of GAAP accounting.
Provide controls and accounting policy guidance related to new/revised business processes and agreements
Qualifications:
Masters of Accounting, MBA, or other advanced degree
5+ years of accounting and management experience desired
Experience working in a fast-paced environment
Experience with Microsoft Visio or other applicable flowcharting software
Excellent analytical skills
Desire to exceed expectations and drive positive change in the organization
Experience with process improvement and Six Sigma
Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registration
Professional certification (e.g. CPA, CIA, CISA)
