POSITION SUMMARY:

The Associate, Payroll is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and managing payroll data. They analyze payroll information, troubleshoot discrepancies, and provide detailed reports. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in payroll systems and Excel are essential for this role.

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Audit time records, calculate wages, generate payroll reports and maintain payroll data.

Review, authorize, and process manual payroll transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Prepare reports for Accounting and Treasury.

Analyze payroll reports to make any necessary adjustments through established protocols.

Serve as a payroll expert, providing insights and contributing to policy and procedure development.

Ensure compliance with payroll regulations at the federal, state and local levels, and provide guidance on rules and procedures.

Facilitate decision-making by addressing inquiries and offering solutions.

Support payroll audits and analyze reporting to ensure data integrity and accuracy.

Collaborate on implementing new payroll controls, systems, policies, and procedures, including cross-departmental projects.

Assist in compliance efforts by preparing data and reports to ensure payroll accuracy and adherence to legal requirements.

Assit with new hire onboarding, ensuring accurate tax, PTO Plan and benefits assignments.

Update employee information, compensation, and benefits with appropriate leader approvals.

Process seamless employee transfers between entities by updating essential details.

Year-End Payroll Process Management:

Prepare detailed reports and reconciliations to support year-end processing and data management.

Execute year-end reporting and distribute W-2 forms.

Manage state and local tax IDs and filings to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Reconcile payroll records in collaboration with Treasury and Accounting.

Manage support cases with payroll vendor, address tax inaccuracies, and oversee time management elements.

Employee Support and Special Projects:

Investigate, and resolve employee inquiries, maintain payroll documents, and respond to verification requests.

Address payroll-related queries and provide support for ongoing payroll projects.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of experience with external payroll vendor software.

In-depth knowledge of payroll tax, and relevant regulations.

Experience with UKG payroll systems is highly desirable.

Understanding of accounting principles.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Strong attention to detail and capability to work independently.

Proven ability to multitask and manage time effectively.

High School Diploma required; college education preferred.

Skills:

Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is essential.

Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registration:

Preferred certification: Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) from (url removed).
