Basic Qualifications :
Associate's degree in related discipline or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

As the Engineering Technician, you'll support engineering activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment. This may entail performing research and engineering laboratory functions that may include, but are not be limited to:

Layout, build, test, troubleshoot, repair and modify electronic or electro-mechanical devices, assemblies, subsystems, and systems

Construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, diagnose and maintain equipment, components, devices, or systems

Calibration and alignment checks

Prepare prescribed compounds and solutions

Construct, modify, debug, test and adjust a variety of tools and equipment given appropriate drawings, parts and instructions

Implement basic practical solutions for process improvement

Conduct and document experiments under guidance of senior technician

Construct basis tooling and fixtures to accomplish unique tasks

Organize data to identify cause/effect relationships and recommends resolution/process improvement

What you bring to the table:An Associate's degree in related discipline or equivalent plus a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience

Fundamental knowledge and proficiency in the use of related tools and equipment

Ability to fabricate simple hardware as required

May require 1st Class FCC license and Solder Repair certification

Knowledge Skills and abilities:

This position will be fully on site, at Mayport Naval Base, FL. supporting the Mission Modules (MM) for the Littoral Combat Ships (LCS).

This position will require domestic and international travel up to 30% of your time.

The candidate must be willing to work outside in the various elements for extended periods of time. The candidate must be able to lift up to 40lbs unassisted, stand for prolong periods, walk, climb ladders and stairs.

Experience with basic hand tools, and some test equipment such as multimeter's and torque wrenches.

Experience operating and maintaining main propulsion, auxiliary machinery, diesel engines, preferably on US Navy/Coast Guard Vessels, Army Tanks, SWCC or Army Corp of Engineers Landing Craft

Prefer candidate to have experience w/Navy maintenance, to include Ship's Maintenance & Material Management (3M), experience conducting Preventive and Corrective Maintenance

Desired qualifications include: experience on LCS ships; knowledge of the Navy's Surface Warfare (SUW), Mine Countermeasure (MCM) and systems; experience with 11m Rigid Hull Inflatable Boats (RIBs),qualification as a RIB operator / maintainer. Experience with other rigid-hull boats will be considered 30mm guns, USMC Advanced Amphibious Assault Vehicle (AAAV) or similar chain guns; experience in Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC).

Salary Note:
This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.

Combined Salary Range:
USD $27.88 - USD $29.12 /Hr.
