International Trade & Logistics Specialist

TOP 3 SKILLS:

Bachelor's degree in logistics, international business, or related (Required)

Logistics, trade compliance, international trading related experience in a dynamic Global Trade environment: 3 years (Required)

HTS code, World Customs Organization (WCO), customs valuation, U.S. Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), import entry packets, country of origin and making

DURATION: 6m Contract to hire

SUMMARY:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

QUALIFICATIONS:

The International Trading & Logistics Specialist will act as an advisor regarding tariffs, global markets, import/export operations, and government regulations. The Specialist will ensure compliance with all governmental regulations and laws for import/export operations, to avoid risks that may result in fines and penalties. Additionally, the Specialist will keep the company informed of any changes to international laws, events, and/or requirements that may impact company operations, and suggest corrective actions to comply with trade enforcement.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Interpret, develop, and implement trade compliance policies and operational procedures

Manages activities for import/export operations and identifies potential risks

Develop innovative strategies to minimize import and export costs

Ensures compliance with filings, documents, and reports through accurate record keeping and auditing, according to internal and external regulations/laws

Provides statistics, forecasts, and future projections concerning international trade to upper management, offering pro-active guidance and decision-making to resolve problems

Identify tariff classifications of products (HTSUS/ECCN)

Manage all customs issues and requests from US Customs

Special projects/other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

•Must have strong reading, speaking, and writing skills.

•Solid working knowledge and field experience in international trading and transportation processes including HTS code, World Customs Organization (WCO), customs valuation, U.S. Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), import entry packets, country of origin and making, etc.

•Ability to interpret bill of materials, general understanding on electronics, plastic, metallic components/modules/assemblies in the electronics design and manufacturing industry.

•Excellent attendance qualifications.

•Requires a meticulous attention to detail.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in logistics, international business, or related (Required)

Logistics, trade compliance, international trading related experience in a dynamic Global Trade environment: 3 years (Required)
