Job description

Position Description Electrician WG-2805-10 located on NAS Jacksonville. Fleet Readiness Center Southeast Experience Required 4-7 Years Position Duties/Responsibilities The electrician installs, repairs, modifies, troubleshoots, loads and tests new and existing electrical line, circuits, systems, fixtures and controls located in and near installation building and structures. Plans and determines the routing, placement, type, size, gauge, balance, load, continuity and safe operation of circuits, systems, equipment and controls.
Installs or replaces lighting facilities and systems requiring necessary wiring, switches, panels, breakers, and junction and control boxes. Troubleshoots installed equipment by tracing circuits, locating shorts, replacing fuses. Inspects for defective equipment and faulty wiring. Makes necessary splices and other repairs. Replaces equipment such as electrical motors, pulleys and belts, to correct trouble. Performs preventive maintenance on equipment and systems following preventive maintenance guides and trade knowledge. Uses hand and trade related tools such as, but not limited to, screwdrivers, pliers, wire cutters, soldering irons and a wide variety of test equipment including test lamps, voltage recording meters,
multi-meters and ammeters. As required, guides and trains lower grade employees. Overhauls, repairs, rebuilds, modifies and maintains electronic equipment of limited complexity
such as subassemblies, printed circuit cards, and chassis. Routine duties are performed in accordance with procedures and requirements, which are specified for each assignment. May assist a higher-grade worker with the modification, repair, or maintenance of more complex systems Uses standard techniques and tools to make repairs entailing similar tasks as directed on less complex electronic equipment. Uses measuring devices such as tapes, rulers, wire gauges, micrometers, and calipers to perform routine assembly and/or repair functions.
Operates automated test equipment (ATE) to perform standardized testing operations. Uses test equipment following prescribed procedures and precise instruction to determine needed
repairs and records results as necessary. Minimum Salary 27.60 Maximum Salary 32.21
