Title: Network / Systems Engineer Location: Fort Walton Beach, FL Job Status: Regular / Full-time Must Have an active DoD Secret Clearance or Higher Description: Be part of a dynamic team that enhances and sustains the Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) collection, processing, exploitation, dissemination, production and archiving capabilities of the Special Operations Forces Planning, Rehearsal, and Execution Preparation (SOFPREP) system. The system provides operational intelligence support to enable integrated SOF mission planning and rehearsal for real-world combat environments. SOFPREP produces three-dimensional (3D) scene visualization databases and enhanced GEOINT data (maps, imagery, and terrain data) in support of SOF training, planning, rehearsal and execution systems. SOFPREP's mission is to support battlespace visualization so that SOF units know the area they will operate in before they get there. Under general supervision, perform maintenance and technology upgrades of the SOFPREP information technology networking and storage infrastructure. Work with the government in support of all information assurance activities, as directed. Responsibilities: Manage the domain network infrastructure's interconnecting switches and routers to include hardware and software upgrades, STIGs, and security patch management. Administer the network connectivity of the hardware and software on Sun Solaris and MS Windows desktops, laptops, workstations, printers and servers residing on physical and virtual platforms for classified and unclassified environments. Install DoD directed security patches and remedy system vulnerabilities for all network hardware. Monitors, diagnoses, resolves and documents complex network, storage and computer system issues. Maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of security risks and best practices for IT Systems. Develops Standard Operating Procedures on daily responsibilities Other duties as required. Qualifications: Strong VMWare experience BS/MS in Computer or Information Science or related field or 8 years of experience in CISCO routing and switching technologies (IOS and NX-OS) with focus on Nexus 5000 series and Fabric Extenders, Cisco Unified Computing System with B200 M4 blade servers, and VMware vSphere ESXi 6.7 or higher. Experience with Cisco MDS 9396S fabric switches, Cisco ISR 4431s, Cisco VTC SX10 and SX20. Experience in DISA circuit troubleshooting and maintenance and Crypto equipment to include TACLANE KG 175D. Knowledge and experience with CISCO NEXUS 5624, FEX 2348TQ, 2348UPQ, VLANs, and Solarwinds. Strong Visio and documentation experience. Fiber optic and Cat5/6 E running, termination and troubleshooting experience Strong SAN and NAS experience. Cisco TAC experience with emphasis on troubleshooting and RMAs. Additional experience to include MS Windows/UNIX (Solaris) operating systems, computing and storage technologies, datacenter, systems/network engineering, leadership, communication and management skills.
