Job Description PHOTOGRAPHER I Mission Department Eglin AFB, FL Open Position Request Number: R-48-24 CLASSIFICATION: Photographer 1; CBA Rate $20.51 Hourly GRADE: Non-Exempt; Regular Full-time LOCATION: Parks Lab, Photo Optics Bldg. 55, Eglin AFB, FL - On Site POSTING DATE: Internal Applicants (6/12/2024) / External Applicants (6/19/2024) ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: This Photographer takes routine pictures in situations where several shots can be taken. This Photographer uses standard still cameras for pictures lacking complications, such as speed, motion, color contrast, or lighting. Photographs are taken for identification, employee publications, information, or publicity purposes. Workers must be able to focus, center, and provide simple flash-type lighting for an uncomplicated photograph. Typical subjects are employees who are photographed for identification, award ceremonies, interviews, banquets or meetings; or external views of machinery, supplies, equipment, building, damaged shipments, or other subjects photographed to record conditions. Assignments usually are performed without direct guidance due to the clear and simple nature of the desired photograph. GENERAL DUTIES: The Photographer takes pictures requiring knowledge of photographic techniques, equipment, and processes. Typically, some familiarity with the organization's activities (i.e., scientific, engineering, industrial, technical, retail, commercial, etc.) and some artistic abilities are needed at higher levels. Depending on the objectives of the assignment, photographers use standard equipment (including simple still, graphic, and motion picture cameras, video and television hand cameras, and similar commonly used equipment) and/or use special-purpose equipment (including specialized still and graphic cameras, motion picture production, television studio, and high-speed cameras and equipment). At the higher levels, a complex accessory system of equipment may be used, as needed, with sound or lighting systems, generators, timing or measurement control mechanisms, or improvised stages or environments, etc. Work of photographers at all levels is reviewed for quality and acceptability. The Photographer may also develop, process, and edit film or tape, serve as a lead photographer to lower-level workers, or may perform work described at lower levels as needed. Positions are matched to the appropriate level based on the difficulty of, and responsibility for the photography performed, including the subject-matter knowledge and artistry required to fulfill the assignment. While the equipment may be an indication of the level of difficulty, photographers at the higher level may use standard equipment, as needed. OTHER DUTIES: Other job functions include general housekeeping and other job-related tasks. May be required to handle hazardous material/hazardous waste. Job Requirements EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Certification in the field from a two-year technical institute or military service school is required. A four-year degree in a related field may be substituted for some or all of the professional technical experience requirement. Must possess a valid driver's license. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Secret security clearance. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Supports E-OMS operational objectives. Observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies; supports Process Improvement. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Some assignments may be performed in a temperature and humidity-controlled environment. Some tasks and assignments such as the installation; operation; and maintenance of mobile systems, aircraft systems, or range instrumentation will require work performance in outside environments with exposure to the conditions typical of the various work locations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Required to lift, pull, or carry items of weight and size commensurate with job requirements.
