Job description
TSC is looking for an experienced Test Engineer in Washington, D.C. Our diverse portfolio includes providing full lifecycle support in Precision Strike and Area Effects; Area Protection; Airborne Sensors and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR); Vehicle Protection; Electronic Warfare Systems; Air and Missile Defense; Space Systems, and Intelligence and Information Systems. Responsibilities: Mechanical design of multi-component assemblies for operation in challenging temperature and vacuum environments
Expertly navigate decisions between outsourced rapid prototyping and in-house fabrication
Hands-on operation of plasma sources (both DC and RF), such as thermionic hollow cathodes, Hall thrusters, ICP sources, microwave plasma sources, DBDs, etc. Practical electrical skills including safe operation of high voltage, high current power supplies
Experimental instrumentation and data acquisition design for experiments
Construction and operation of plasma diagnostics such as Langmuir probes
Requirements: Bachelor's or graduate degree in physics, engineering, or related field with approximately 3+ years of relevant experience. (may include post-bachelor's study)
A self-directed, efficient work ethic-we value progress and impact over reinventing the wheel!
US citizenship, with ability to obtain Secret clearance Preferred Qualifications: Operation, maintenance, and servicing of high vacuum systems
Software interfacing and control of experimental equipment MATLAB, Python, or LabView instrument control and automation
Familiarity with serial, GPIB, SCPI, VISA, and other protocols
Experience using fundamental RF and DC laboratory test equipment (power supplies, signal generators, network analyzers, sourcemeters etc.) with ability to learn and devise more complex measurement techniques
