Job description

Responsibilities: Scheduling, coordinating, and facilitating building repairs and maintenance for three buildings at NRL Coordinating capital improvement projects such as specialized laboratory facilities, large test equipment (thermal vacuum systems, wind tunnels, plasma test facilities, and high temperature material laboratories, for example) for NRL Code 8200 with government technical leads, NAVFAC, and NAVFAC construction contractors Attending meetings with NRL leadership and briefing status on major projects Providing weekly briefings on the status and schedule of capital improvement projects, mechanical/electrical/HVAC/plumbing/structural trouble tickets, and planned electrical/HVAC/plumbing outages and road closures affecting division operations Maintaining logs of trouble tickets and responses with the general maintenance contractor; inspecting and accepting repairs Preparing budgetary cost estimates for upcoming construction and repair work Preparing independent government estimates of contracted construction and repair Performing minor repairs and upgrades as required by division leadership Performing daily walkthroughs of research spaces and independently coordinate the repair/remedy of all observed deficiencies Required Qualifications: At least ten years' experience as a construction site lead, general contractor, or building supervisor. At least five years' work experience as a carpenter, electrician, plumber, or HVAC installer. Experience working with US government contracting and procurement. Direct experience working with NAVFAC is preferred Experience coordinating projects across multiple departments of a large organization, preferably government Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance. A minimum clearance level of Secret will be required, with possible future requirements for higher levels of clearance. People with an existing DoD Secret or higher level clearance active within the past 18 months are strongly preferred. Only US citizens are allowed to work on the specific NRL contract the Facilities Manager will support. Minimum High School graduate Preferred Qualifications Associates or Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction, architecture, or a related field
Ability to use architectural CAD systems
Professional licenses in construction related fields
Certification and experience in forklift operations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
