Comprehensive Approach Solutions (CAS) is seeking an experienced Strategic Communications Specialist, Mid-level to join our Team in Washington, DC supporting the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security (USD(I&S . This is to fill a vacancy on a new contract awarded with an estimated start date between 1-15 October, 2024. Experience Required: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Strategic Communications Specialist working within the Department of Defense Minimum Education Requirement: Bachelor's Degree Job Description: Applies understanding of OUSDI&S mission, partners and priorities to provide executive-level support to the organization's most senior leadership. Prepares written, electronic and digital products for a wide range of engagements, topics and audiences. Solicits input from leadership and other internal stakeholders to develop content and products. Drafts speeches, social media content, talking points and other communications for delivery by senior leadership.
Responsibilities include:
• Write and edit communications including speeches, talking points, brief slides, and remarks for use in presentations and other requirements by the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence & Security, the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence & Security. This is a daily task that is performed, and the specific quantities are listed in the tasks below. Develop, research, and provide written materials for a wide range of audiences and topics, mostly regarding DoD intelligence and security related topics. • Work with various stakeholders to identify appropriate messaging for various speaking and engagement opportunities. This is a daily activity.
• Translate the ideas, objectives, and leadership position and management philosophy into messaging that relates to the topic, speaker and intended audience. • Prepare a variety of communications materials including white papers, visual and digital media, and program briefs.
• Submit draft outlines, speeches, and written documents to senior leadership for revisions and approval. • Schedule rehearsal sessions with the speaker and provides them with tips and advice.
