Job Description: NDi seeks a Sr. Network Engineer with 7+ years' experience designing, implementing, maintaining and supporting LAN/WAN network security infrastructure within a federal organization. The role supports the professional services which takes client project opportunities from vision/concept all the way through implementation. Projects are focused on Microsoft, Cisco, NetApp, VMWare, ZScaler and Azure Cloud technologies as well as software and services. This position will be responsible for supporting our firewalls, switching, router, load balancer, and virtualization technologies. The candidate will collaborate closely with engineers, cloud architects, network engineers, and system administrators to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the organization's network and cloud resources. Requirements: U.S. Citizenship is required.
Candidate must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance.
This position is currently hybrid (remote/onsite) and will require working onsite, at minimum three times a week. Qualifications and Experience: B.S. degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
A minimum of 7 years' minimum experience
Experience working in a Cisco Environment Experience with Cisco Integrated Service Engine
Proficient in Cisco networking technologies, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless.
Extensive experience in designing, implementing, and managing Cisco network solutions.
Experience with Cisco Prime Infrastructure
Experience with Azure Express Routes
Strong knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and MPLS
Operational knowledge of Azure cloud environments; Network and routing protocols
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) required
Responsibilities: Design, implement, and manage network security infrastructure, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, NAC, and secure access solutions.
Monitor network traffic for unusual activity and potential security threats, analyze and respond to security incidents, and conduct regular security audits.
Experience managing complex hybrid cloud environments: SD-WAN, cloud firewall, on-prem firewall, network access control, wireless environments, load balancing, reverse proxies, and Azure cloud networking
Experience with Azure cloud-native infrastructure, including virtual networks, security groups, and identity management services
Develop, update and maintain network documentation of network configurations, topologies, and operational procedures
Familiarity with network monitoring tools like tools like Cisco Prime, SolarWinds, Nagios or other network management system
Implement and enforce security policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for network security-related issues, including participation in on-call rotation as needed.
Experience in Implementing and Supporting applications load balancing using F5, TM and GTM load balancing concepts, Cloud Providers, F5 Load Balancers, and VPN technologies.
Knowledge of wireless Ethernet technologies (802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.1x) a plus.
