Sr Principal Scientist/Global Biomarker Lead Oncology Clinical BiomarkersWhat you will do
Lets do this. Lets change the world. The Senior Principal Scientist at Amgen is a leading expert responsible for planning and executing biomarker research within oncology clinical studies. Their work, using advanced technologies and methodologies, helps in the translation and clinical development of the company's products.
In this vital role you will successfully partner with cross-functional stakeholders to drive clinical biomarker innovation for oncology clinical assets.
- Responsible for preparing clinical biomarker strategies, leading biomarker development, implementation, and execution for one or more programs
- Responsible for robust clinical biomarker plans to deliver patient stratification/selection, pharmacodynamics, mechanism of action and resistance evidence from clinical trial samples
- Responsible for biomarker elements in clinical protocols, biomarker analysis plans, regulatory submissions, investigator meetings, advisory boards and publications
- Build productive relationships with team members and functional groups for integrating an aligned and prioritized clinical biomarker evidence plan that addresses clinical objectives and translational research
- Partners with cross functional stakeholders including to drive biomarker innovation at product level
- Interprets and communicates key clinical biomarker findings to cross functional teams including Precision Medicine teams and leadership

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 2 years of industry experience in oncology clinical biomarker development
OrMasters degree and 4 years of industry experience in oncology clinical biomarker development
OrBachelors degree and 6 years of industry experience in oncology clinical biomarker development
OrAssociates degree and 10 years of industry experience in oncology clinical biomarker development
OrHigh school diploma / GED and 12 years of industry experience in oncology clinical biomarker development
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree (PhD and/or MD) with 5+ years industry experience developing oncology biomarker strategies in a clinical development setting
- Experience developing and executing pharmacodynamic, predictive and exploratory biomarkers such as mechanisms of resistance with clinical trial samples
- Experience implementing a broad array of biomarker platforms and technologies to support oncology clinical programs
- Clinical development experience working with cross-functional teams conducting clinical trials
- Demonstrated ability to establish and implement biomarker studies and collaborations with academic laboratories/KOLs as well as CROs
- Knowledge of biomarker assay development and qualification, analysis of clinical samples, and leading biomarker assay outsourcing processes with external vendors and CROs
- Experience working effectively in a team environment with cross-cultural partners
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience drafting technical reports and biomarker publications, and interpreting and communicating biomarker results to cross-functional teams

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
