Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Security Operations Analyst join a Contract-to-Hire job opportunity in Washington DC. This is an onsite position with the Treasury Department that offers conversion to a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite) once comfortable in the role. The Security Operations Analyst will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing security events, responding to security incidents, and ensuring the security of our organization's systems, applications, and data. MUST BE PUBLIC TRUST ELIGIBLE Responsibilities of the Security Operations Analyst: • Monitor security events from various sources, including intrusion detection systems, firewalls, and SIEM tools • Investigate and respond to security alerts, incidents, and vulnerabilities, escalating as necessary to the appropriate team • Analyze security data and reports to identify trends and potential threats • Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (SOPs and user guides) • Support annual FISMA, FISCAM (FSA), OIG, and third-party audits • (DISA STIG, CIS Benchmark, NIST800.53)
Qualifications for the Security Operations Analyst: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. • 3+ years of overall IT experience in security analysis (6+ years of experience in lieu of a college degree) • Experience with penetration testing preferred • Active CISSP, CISM, CompTIA CySA+ certifications • Experience working with tools such as Splunk, Crowdstrike, Nessus, Qualys, Burp, Palo Alto Firewalls • Knowledge of security technologies including IDS/IPS, SIEM tools, and vulnerability scanning tools. • Understanding of security frameworks, such as NIST, SCUBA, DISA STIG, and CIS. • Experience with conducting vulnerability assessments Compensation for the Security Operations Analyst: • Salary Range: $70,000 - $75,000 depending on experiences & non-negotiable above this range • Full Benefits: Cigna Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, etc.
