Koniag IT Systems, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Senior Records Management Specialist to support KITS and our government customer in Washington. DC. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust. KITS is seeking a Records Management Specialist to work with our client in Washington, DC. KITS ideal candidate shall provide applied expertise to records and information management, governance, content, and archival management. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication and listening skills, be able to capture and present ideas articulately and customer support initiatives. Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to: Work with Government counterparts to develop records management governance Support the administration of records management program, including policy adherence, providing guidelines, assisting in digital implementation, and defining automated methods Developing and maintaining Initial Business Proposals, Charters, Project Management Plans (PMPs), Lessons Learned, and Closeout for all assigned projects Build a project schedule in accordance with client policy for each project assigned; monitor and advance all activities via a project schedule Support the continued improvement and enhancement of the clients Records Management Team including but not limited to responding to feedback from staff, meeting minutes, research, verbal, and written communications Identify new policies for the definition, storage, and accessibility of immigration records (immigrant and non-immigrant) in both a person centric and hybrid records environment Develop and assist in the delivery of training materials related to document management principals, processes, and functions Identify potential solutions within the existing client software portfolio for managing the records while minimizing disruption to the existing workflow Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand the program's vision and help communicate goals throughout the program Oversee all aspects of projects and supervise others Position Requirements: Minimum of 5 years RM experience Experience working on a team Proficiency conducting records dispositions. Proficiency conducting record inventories. Proficiency in inventory and discovery of records Proficiency conducting records assessments. Proficiency creating file plans. Proficiency of communicating verbally and in writing. Strong understanding of formal records management methodologies. Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or relevant discipline Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Candidates must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance, per government requirements Desired National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) Certified Records Management Certification Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including explaining technical and program requirements to both technical and non-technical audiences Experience working directly with government senior staff Experience working with Agile methodologies and/or an Agile based work environment Excellent communication, customer service and organizational skills Must be fluent in MS Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel Showcase good analytical and evaluative skills in tasks Ability to multitask Have good interpersonal skills Ability to obtain a Public Trust Working Environment & Conditions This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
