Senior CNO Hypervisor Engineer
Arlington, VA
Salary - Up to $265,000
Clearance: TS/SCI Polygraph: Must be willing to sit for FS polygraph or already have FS polygraph Client Overview:
Our client, a pioneering cybersecurity firm, specializes in advanced computer network operations, including offensive tool development, defensive strategies, and cutting-edge thin hypervisor technology. With a strong foundation in both offensive and defensive tactics, they deliver custom solutions, including bespoke reverse engineering services, to enhance cyber agility and ensure robust digital security. Role Overview:
As a Senior CNO Hypervisor Engineer, you will independently research and develop hypervisor technologies. Your work will involve projects related to virtualization, including understanding commercial virtualization solutions and developing custom implementations. Extensive software development, primarily in C, including low-level programming of hardware virtualization extensions found in modern CPUs, is required. You must be able to work independently and collaborate with a team as necessary. Key Responsibilities: • Conduct independent research and development on hypervisor-related technologies. • Work on or lead virtualization projects, understanding and implementing commercial and custom virtualization solutions. • Engage in extensive software development, primarily in C, focusing on low-level programming of hardware virtualization extensions in modern CPUs. • Collaborate with team members and work independently when required. Qualifications:
Security Clearance: • Active TS/SCI (or SCI eligible) with the willingness to undergo a full-scope polygraph in the future. Skills and Experience: • Proficient understanding of commercial virtualization technologies such as VMware's ESXi, XEN, and Linux/KVM. • Knowledge of Intel and/or AMD hardware virtualization extensions. • Strong software development skills in C and/or C++, with proficiency in Python. • Experience with the software development process and tools like Git, Make, CMake, Visual Studio, and others. • Preferred but not required: Experience in reverse engineering of x86/x64 architectures.
