Job description

Duties The incumbent serves as a Request for Information (RFI) manager responsible for processing intelligence RFIs from State, Local, Territory, and Tribal partners (SLTT), DHS Components, Intelligence Community (IC) members and Federal Agencies. DHS SPS is a centralized resource consisting of representatives from I&A and Office of Homeland Security Situational Awareness (OSA) responsible for processing RFIs concerning intelligence or operational information within DHS Headquarters. The SPS process is not affiliated with the Executive Secretariat process. MAJOR DUTIES Responsible for managing the receiving, processing, facilitating, and responding to intelligence RFIs and Tearlines submitted to Headquarters DHS from SLTT partners, DHS Components, IC members and Federal Agencies. Validates incoming RFIs to ensure they comply with Departmental and organizational requirements and directives. Frequently engages with counterparts at multiple levels from across the USG and SLTT entities, and legal and privacy offices to ensure the timely and comprehensive provision of necessary and/or specialized data and information for RFIs. Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be able to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI Security Clearance. Must be a U.S. Citizen. Qualifications Advanced knowledge of the DHS I&A homeland security intelligence mission and operations including a general knowledge of DHS Component agencies and their missions. Advanced skills in applying information gathering, fact-finding and dissemination techniques to ensure the necessary and appropriate information is available in a timely manner. Advanced skills in organization and presenting data in a variety of formats for presentation to customer set using spreadsheets, tables, charts and other tools. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills in order to maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external customers. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing in order to formulate and present findings, briefings, status reports, and correspondence to foster understanding and acceptance of RFI responses.
