The hourly rate for this position is $17.50 per hour. Position Description: The Night Monitor will provide monitoring and security for the housing facility and residents, during the day or overnight based on schedule. The position is located at Karin House on the Walter Reed campus in NW Washington, DC. Karin House is an affordable housing program designed specifically for the elderly and includes health, wellness and recreational activities for 40 seniors. Schedule: Friday 4:00pm-11:00pm and Saturday 9:00 am-11:00pm (21 hours a week) Qualifications Required:1-3 years of experience in social services and experience providing services to seniors. Preferred: HS Diploma/GED; 3-5 years of experience in social services and experience providing services to seniors. Required License/Certification: CPR/First Aid Expected Contributions: Oversee house operations and respond to client issues at night or during the day based on schedule Conduct regular house walk-throughs and submit shift logs at the end of each shift Perform drug tests, as needed Respond to emergency situations and contact management as needed, develop serious incident report when needed Perform various administrative tasks, as needed Monitor and document client medications Perform cleaning duties Assist in meal preparation Enforce the policies of the program Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required: Conflict resolution skills Customer service skills Ability to work independently Ability to set professional boundaries Problem-solving skills Ability to work with diverse audiences Proficient in Microsoft Office (Including Word, Excel, & Outlook) Reports to: Program Manager Position Designation: This position is designated as Safety Sensitive. You may be subject to drug testing prior to or during your employment with SOME. In this position, you may be disqualified from employment based on the presence of marijuana in test results, even if you possess a medical card authorizing the use of medical marijuana. Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds. May be required to sit or stand for long periods. Must be able to move around all levels/floors of the building.
