We support customers with Centers of Excellence in Washington DC, Huntsville, AL and Burlington, MA with an additional 36 locations across the U.S. Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Mid Level CADD Operator to assist the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division's Naval Architecture and Engineering Department in achieving new or improved understanding in concepts and technology, fundamental and applied research of the marine environment, engineering and naval architecture, hydromechanics, maneuvering and control, fluid dynamics, aerodynamics, modeling and simulation, test and evaluation, and training. JOB DETAILS LOCATION: DC Metro Area
JOB STATUS: FT TRAVEL: 0% REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS Successful candidates will demonstrate the following Three (3) to Seven (7) years of experience as a Drafter / CAD Operator Associate's degree in Computer-aided Design and Drafting Technology or equivalent. Current Secret Clearance DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS Related military experience RESPONSIBILITIES The Mid Level CADD operator supports computer-aided creation, modification, analysis, and optimization of 2D and 3D designs and virtual models in support of NSWC Code 80's mission. Responsibilities include: Develop technical drawings and virtual models in electronic format. Utilize computer software to perform computer-aided creation, modification, analysis, and optimization of 2D and 3D designs and virtual models. Utilize CADD tools to analyze, design, and develop platforms, platform systems, components, instrumentation, measurement facilities, and ranges, to include alterations affecting hull, machinery, and equipment. Develop and maintain engineering CADD drawings in support of model testing.
