Job description

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in satellite technology, with a deep understanding of both the practical and theoretical aspects of electrical engineering in the space industry. This role requires a hands-on approach, the ability to design, develop, and test complex electrical systems for our satellite subsystems, and a strong team-oriented mindset. Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and test electrical systems for satellite applications, including power systems, communication systems, and sensors. Develop control algorithms and support electric motors design and integration. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to integrate electrical systems into satellite designs. Work hands-on with hardware, assembling and testing prototypes, and troubleshooting issues. Conduct theoretical analysis and simulations to validate design concepts and optimize system performance. Develop and maintain documentation for designs, tests, and systems. Design PCB layouts, select components, and create detailed CAD drawings and BOMs. Take initiative as a self-starter, driving projects forward with minimal supervision. Be willing to go the extra mile to ensure project success and meet tight deadlines. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in electrical engineering and space technology. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science or a related field and 3-5 years of experience. Strong knowledge and experience in satellite technology, including power management, control theory, and data communication. Proficient in the use of simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, MATLAB) and CAD software (e.g., Altium) for circuit design and analysis. Hands-on experience with electronics prototyping, soldering, and testing. Solid understanding of the theory behind electrical systems and the ability to apply it in practical scenarios. Must be a team player with excellent collaboration and communication skills. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Self-starter mentality with a proactive approach to tasks and challenges. Must be a US citizen or national, US permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the US as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred Qualifications:
A passion for tinkering, building, and experimenting with electronics and hardware. Experience with programming microcontrollers (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi, etc.) Experience with space-grade components and understanding of the environmental challenges associated with space technology. Previous experience working in a start-up environment or on space-related projects. What We Offer:
