Position Title: Intermediate Configuration Specialist Location: DMV Area and able to work on-site in Washington, D.C. if required Clearance: Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder who has resided in the U.S. for at least 3 years and is able to obtain a Public Trust. Position Overview: Marathon TS is seeking an Intermediate Configuration Specialist to join our team supporting the Department of Transportation's Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the consistency and reliability of FMCSA's systems through meticulous configuration management. You will conduct comprehensive process assessments and audits, maintain rigorous documentation, and collaborate closely with project teams to uphold the highest standards of quality and compliance. Your expertise in configuration management, release management, and version control will be vital in supporting FMCSA's mission to enhance transportation safety. Your future duties and responsibilities: Rigorous Process Assessment: Conduct thorough process assessments and audits to ensure strict adherence to FMCSA's documented processes, including configuration and release management. Each application will be evaluated at least once annually to maintain the highest standards of quality and compliance. Clear Documentation & Reporting: Accurately document and report all assessment and audit results to the Project/Program Manager and relevant stakeholders. This includes providing clear and actionable insights to drive continuous improvement. Version Control & Collaboration: Manage all assessment and audit findings using Jira/Confluence for version control. Collaborate with the audited project team to review and clarify findings before releasing them to management ensuring transparency. Backlog Management: Maintain a well-organized and prioritized backlog of applications for assessment/audit within Jira, based on the last review date. This proactive approach ensures timely and efficient audits keeping all systems aligned with FMCSA standards. Required qualifications to be successful in this role: 3 years of configuration management experience, including 1 year within federal IT projects. Proven experience in configuration management, ensuring the accuracy and consistency of system configurations. Strong planning skills, with the ability to develop and implement detailed audit criteria. Demonstrated ability to perform thorough audits and assessments, providing valuable insights and recommendations. Expertise in maintaining and managing project schedules to ensure timely delivery of tasks and projects. Experience collaborating effectively across matrixed project teams, fostering strong communication and teamwork. Proficiency with the Microsoft suite of tools, including Project, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Visio. Familiarity with using Jira and Confluence for task management and documentation.
