Job description

Interagency Officer, Multilateral Outreach Specialist This position requires an active Secret clearance. The Multilateral Outreach Specialist supports the Department of State (DOS), specifically within the Office to Combat Trafficking in Persons (TIP) and other designated offices. This position delivers comprehensive administrative, professional, and technical support services to ensure effective operations and strategic outreach initiatives. The specialist will coordinate collaborative efforts both internally within the DOS and externally with multilateral organizations, NGOs, and governmental agencies. By facilitating communication and building solid relationships, the Multilateral Outreach Specialist will help advance TIP's mission to combat human trafficking globally. Compensation & Benefits: Estimated Starting Salary Range for Interagency Officer, Multilateral Outreach Specialist: Starting at $85,000.00 Pay commensurate with experience. Interagency Officer, Multilateral Outreach Specialist Responsibilities Include: Works closely with the multilateral section of the IGA team to engage with interagency and multilateral partners. It leads to engagement with the Organization of American States and the International Labor Organization, working with other DOS and interagency colleagues. Works closely with federal interagency partners, especially the Department of Labor, to engage the federal government on the Sustainable Development Goals and Alliance 8.7. Identifies promising practices and drafts effective talking points related to interventions with multilateral institutions and other related areas. This position also provides support to ensure proper data collection and reporting on federal government anti-trafficking efforts in coordination with the interagency section of the IGA team. Duties will include special projects, such as research projects, congressional inquiries, reporting mandates, projects to evaluate internal processes and develop lessons learned, and other special projects, as needed. Interagency Officer, Multilateral Outreach Specialist Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities: Bachelor's degree in International Affairs, Government Relations, Public Affairs, or a related field, or 5-6 years of relevant experience if the degree is in a different area. A Master's degree is preferred but not mandatory. No additional professional work experience is required beyond the education qualifications. Ability to perform analytical tasks and communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to demonstrate excellent organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills. Ability to liaise within the J/TIP Office, other Department bureaus and offices, interagency partners, and multilateral organizations. Ability to use computer skills successfully. Significant work experience in human trafficking, multilateral engagement, or related areas is a key requirement for this role. Your proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is a key component of this role, and your competence in this area will prepare you for success. Prior knowledge of U.S. government multilateral engagement is a significant advantage for this role. In-office presence is required at least three times a week. Some administrative duties are required for this role (some travel arrangements). Overseas travel to support multilateral engagements may be required (1-2 times a year). This position requires an active Secret clearance. Additional Preferred Skills: Strong writing skills and calm/diplomatic composure a plus Experience in communications, including creating social media content, would be helpful. Fluency in UN language helpful - particularly Spanish or French - but not required.
