We are currently seeking an Industrial Security Specialist to play a pivotal role in maintaining the security and compliance of our client's facilities, operations, and classified information. You will work closely with various departments to implement and manage security protocols, ensuring adherence to all relevant government regulations and industry standards and supporting our client's strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with NISPOM, FISMA, DoD regulations, and other relevant security frameworks. Educate employees and contractors on security protocols, procedures, and best practices. Process, track, and maintain security clearances for employees and contractors, ensuring appropriate access to classified information. Investigate security incidents, violations, or potential threats to the company's assets. Regularly assess physical security measures, information systems, and adherence to security protocols. Generate and manage various security-related documents, including Standard Forms (SFs), DD Forms, and incident reports. Analyze DD254s and other contract documents to determine specific security obligations and ensure compliance. Create tailored security plans to protect classified information associated with DoD contracts. Liaise with DCSA, contracting officers, and other DoD representatives on security matters. Implement proper handling, storage, transmission, and destruction procedures for classified materials. Identify and assess potential vulnerabilities in the company's security posture related to DoD contracts. Address any identified security deficiencies and implement corrective measures to mitigate risks. Continuously monitor updates to NISPOM, DoD directives, and other relevant regulations to ensure ongoing compliance. Offer security expertise and guidance to project teams working on DoD contracts. Assist in incident investigations, damage assessments, and recovery efforts. Qualifications: Active Top Secret clearance with SCI (Sensitive Compartmented Information) eligibility. Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business Administration, or a similar discipline), or relevant experience. 3-5 years of experience working in industrial security or a related field (e.g., security management, government contracting, defense, or federal security operations). Strong understanding of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and other relevant federal security policies (DoD 5220.22-M, RMF, DFARS). Experience working as a Facility Security Officer (FSO) or supporting an FSO in managing security protocols. Demonstrated experience with security clearance processing, safeguarding classified materials, and conducting security inspections or audits. Knowledge and experience with FOCI mitigation plans, procedures, and compliance. Familiarity with classified contract setup, secure facility construction (SCIFs), and Continuous Monitoring programs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex security requirements to both technical and non-technical personnel. Proficiency with security management tools and systems, such as JPAS, DISS, e-QIP, and SIMS. Strong ability to assess security risks and develop effective mitigation strategies. Preferred Qualifications: Certified Industrial Security Professional (ISP) certification. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). Facility Security Officer (FSO) Certification from the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA). Prior experience working with Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community (IC), or other government agencies on classified contracts. Familiarity with establishing and managing Insider Threat Programs in compliance with government security directives. Location: Washington, DC. Clearance Required: Position requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with ability to obtain additional security requirements. Position requires SSBI/T5 investigation within the past 52 months. Working Environment & Conditions: This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
