Requisition #: 476 Job Title: Enterprise Architect Location: Remote Clearance Level: Active DoD - Public Trust Required Certification(s): • Requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited academic institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in one or more of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or similar discipline. SUMMARY The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) is responsible for enabling the creation and sharing of business information in support of the HUD mission. The HUD OCIO manages the HUD portfolio of information and information technologies (IT) to ensure HUD's IT investments generate business value while mitigating risks. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Develop models of IT systems, technology architectures, business architectures, and business processes using ArchiMate, Unified Modeling Language (UML), Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN), or other formal modeling languages. • Help design and implement a model repository using preferred HUD EA tools (Sparx Enterprise Architect and Prolaborate). • Develop and recommend templates, guidelines, and processes to help the customer perform enterprise and solutions architecture activities, including leading technical design reviews, documenting technical information, and technical analysis of HUD IT projects. • Research and recommend EA artifact standards HUD should use to document current and target state architectures. • Design and recommend Software Development Lifecycle processes and policies. • As needed, convert business requirements into solution architectures that integrate with the existing HUD enterprise IT environment. • Evaluate proposed HUD solution architectures to maximize use and value of HUD's existing technology capabilities. • Identify and recommend key performance indicators/evaluation criteria for technology pilots, proofs of concept, and modernization projects. • Apply Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework (FEAF) concepts and taxonomies to EA tasks and functions. SUPERVISORY DUTIES • The Solutions Architect may be required to lead projects, tasks and possibly staff however they will not be expected to manage teams, departments or divisions. QUALIFICATIONS
Required Certifications • Requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited academic institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in one or more of the following disciplines: Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or similar discipline. Education, Background, and Years of Experience • Minimum of five (5) years of experience working as a solutions architect, enterprise architect, enterprise application software developer, or similar role. • Knowledgeable about each step in the software development life cycle and the solution delivery process. • Knowledgeable about federal cybersecurity and IT management guidelines, frameworks, and mandates. • Experience in the federal workspace, specifically working with the enhancement and migration of large, complex legacy systems or the development of new applications in modern cloud environments. • Experience with modeling and diagramming tools (Sparx EA, Microsoft Visio, or similar). • Experience leading ad-hoc teams through problem solving and collaborative design activities. WORKING CONDITIONS
Environmental Conditions • General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are not hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. Strength Demands • Sedentary - 10 lbs. Maximum lifting, occasional lift/carry of small articles. Some occasional walking or standing may be required. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
