Job description

Duties You will plan, manage, and execute the Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber and Intelligence systems portfolio across Warfare Centers, shipyards, industry and other areas to support programs/projects under the PEO. You will design trade space evaluation and systems integration by coordinating or planning technical teams, working groups, and meetings for various systems/functions. You will provide day to day technical management of PMS 351 tasking and personnel under their purview and ensure technical areas in their purview area adequately interfacing to support ship systems integration. You will provide engineering assessment, research, and problem resolution for SSN(X) design trade space exploration/reduction. You will assist with the development and implementation of programmatic documentation, Analysis of Alternatives and development of a Capability Development Document, and assist with development of design decision documentation You will coordinate with Engineering Agents, Technical Authorities, shipbuilders, and research centers for technical task reviews, system engineering efforts, hardware and software development. You will require advanced knowledge of the system development efforts relating to complex military systems, with emphasis on system engineering, design, technology assessment and test and evaluation. You will require advanced knowledge of system acquisition and DoD acquisition regulations and guidelines. You will require advanced knowledge of project/program management and ability to identify and mitigate program risks. You will provide program management support in such areas as budget development, coordinating schedules/plans/procedures, development and monitoring assigned technical tasks with Navy activities, contractors, academia, etc Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be a US Citizen. Qualifications This is an interdisciplinary position and may be filled by a Mechanical Engineer (0830-series), a Computer Engineer (0854-series), an Electronics Engineer (0855-series), Mathematics (1520-series), or a Computer Scientist (1550-series) depending upon the qualifications of the candidate. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. Degree: mathematics; or the equivalent of a major that included at least 24 semester hours in mathematics. or B. Combination of education and experience courses equivalent to a major in mathematics (including at least 24 semester hours in mathematics), as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. The total course work in either A or B above must have included differential and integral calculus and, in addition, four advanced mathematics courses requiring calculus or equivalent mathematics courses as a prerequisite. 1550 Computer Scientist Series: Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus.
