Job description

Duties This position is in the Resilience Section, Integration Division (ID), DHS Office of Homeland Security Situational Awareness (OSA). The individual detailed to support this position must have a current DHS TS/SCI security clearance and will support OSA Continuity of Operations (COOP) program requirements. Specific duties will include: Support OSA COOP planning, training, exercise, and evaluation activities. Participating in OPS recurring communication and completing associated Continuity reporting requirements. Developing, coordinating, executing, and assessment for OSA COOP related exercise requirements. Capturing COOP lessons learned and best practices to be integrated into plans and operations as appropriate. Supporting COOP requirements established in the OSA Strategic Plan. Sustaining the OSA COOP and Pandemic Workforce Protection Support Plans (this includes revising and exercising both plans). Assisting in managing OSA unclassified and classified continuity requirements. Representing OSA at various DHS Continuity coordination, exercise, and training forums. Supporting the OSA Continuity Manager in coordinating/implementing Training, Testing, and Exercise efforts and other COOP requirements as directed or assigned. This is not a virtual position, but the employee will be authorized to telework within established DHS guidance. Qualifications Qualifications required: Working knowledge of Continuity of Operations (COOP) & Continuity of Government (COG) programs. Working knowledge of continuity, critical infrastructure, emergency preparedness based project management, operational planning, staff coordination, testing, training and exercise emergency management work. Working knowledge of MSOFFICE applications. Ability to research, analyze, and present results of analysis to Senior Leadership in both unclassified and classified venues. Working knowledge of COOP Exercises and Homeland Security Exercise & Evaluation Program (HSEEP). Ability to complete range of project management and mid-level staff officer assignments. Ability to work closely with and routinely communicate with other continuity managers and staff within Resilience, OSA and other DHS Components, Offices, and/or Joint Collaboration elements.
