Data Analyst ll -with Top Secret Clearance Position Overview Are you passionate about delivering critical technology solutions to federal agencies and supporting their mission? Are you self-organizing, motivated, and client-focused? We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Analyst II with an active Top-Secret clearance to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling to support various projects that contribute to national security. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze complex datasets, develop predictive models, and deliver actionable insights that drive the decision-making needs of our clients. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Data Analyst II shall: Propose, design, and conduct data science, research, and analytic work leveraging open source, social, and digital media data to quantitatively and qualitatively assess foreign state and non-state actor disinformation and propaganda.
Develop new methods and capabilities to keep A&R at the forefront of research and technology and provide input into data needs supporting the GEC.
Develop and inform data science processes, standards, and data analytics products and reporting related to identifying and characterizing foreign information operations.
Identify new ways of gathering input from various data sources and through various methodologically sound approaches.
Engage with the Department of State, interagency, and international partners to coordinate interagency efforts to synchronize USG resources to fulfill the GEC's objectives.
Represent the GEC in working groups, meetings, and conferences.
Provide recommendations on data sources and methodological approaches for this work.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: Data Analyst II Master's Degree and 1+ year of relevant experience; or bachelor's degree and 3+ years of relevant experience
Demonstrated proficiency in data and social science methodologies, including formulation of descriptive statistics; hypothesis testing; correlation and regression analysis; observational or experimental research design; application of frequentist or Bayesian statistical principles; network analysis; or applied machine learning or artificial intelligence techniques related to dimensionality reduction, natural language processing, computer vision, classification and clustering, and large language models; Pursue efforts related to specific research questions/problem areas, including literature review, background study, data interrogation, and analysis using statistical/quantitative and qualitative methods to develop strategic insights/recommendations.
Project management skills, including maintaining multi-deadline, fluid set of projects under Agile management methods; overall project management proficiency including monitoring and controlling projects and communicating across all project stakeholders.
Ability to organize thoughts and communicate clearly and effectively to the intended audience for the selected medium, including visual aids as appropriate.
Oral communication skills in-person and online, to varying audiences; development of presentation aids, causing audience(s) to retain knowledge.
Possesses a Top-Secret Clearance.
