Job Summary: The AV Supervisor will oversee the operations, maintenance, and installation of audio-visual systems within WMATA facilities. This role will ensure that all AV equipment functions optimally, is properly maintained, and supports the operational needs of WMATA's internal and public-facing systems. Key Responsibilities Supervision & Leadership: Manage a team of AV technicians, providing guidance, training, and scheduling to ensure operational efficiency. Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of AV systems, including audio, video conferencing, displays, and control systems. Installation & Setup: Oversee the installation and configuration of new AV equipment for various WMATA facilities, ensuring compliance with specifications and safety standards. Operational Support: Provide support for live events, presentations, meetings, and conferences that require AV services, ensuring all systems are functional and meet event requirements. Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers and other departments to plan and implement AV projects. Ensure timelines are met and budgets are adhered to. Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers for procurement, repairs, and service contracts. Documentation: Maintain records of equipment inventories, service logs, and system configurations. Ensure documentation is updated for all AV systems. Compliance & Safety: Ensure all AV installations and operations comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and WMATA policies. Training: Train staff on the proper use and troubleshooting of AV equipment. Innovation & Improvements: Identify opportunities to upgrade and improve AV systems to enhance performance and reliability. Qualifications Education: Associate's degree in Audio-Visual Technology, IT, or a related field (Bachelor's degree preferred). Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in AV installation, maintenance, and supervision. Certifications: AVIXA CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) or similar certification. ITIL or PMP certification is a plus. Technical Skills: Expertise in AV systems (audio, video, conferencing equipment, control systems). Knowledge of Crestron, Extron, and other AV control systems. Experience with video conferencing platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.). Familiarity with networking, cabling, and IP-based AV systems. Leadership: Proven ability to lead and manage a team. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with internal teams, external vendors, and WMATA personnel. Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues under pressure. Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
