ChristianaCare is looking for a Customer Service Specialist for Colorectal Surgery at Newark

At ChristianaCare, our Colorectal Surgery Team i ncludes surgeries for colon cancer, inflammatory bowel disease and hemorrhoids.

Why ChristianaCare?

You will be responsible for handling a large volume of inbound and outbound calls. You will be responsible for administrative duties, as well. These tasks will include patient intake paperwork, scheduling appointments, sending, and receiving correspondence, data entry, and maintaining referral files. You will also be responsible for reviewing submitted documents to ensure the proper information is obtained for billing purposes.

You will play an important part in ensuring patient satisfaction for ChristianaCare. You will be a positive contact point between ChristianaCare and our neighbors.

Work Schedule:

• Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30pm.

• A four-week on-site training will occur at 501 West 14th Street in Wilmington, Delaware.

General Surgery Services ChristianaCare

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responds accurately to a high volume of calls demonstrating exceptional customer service skills.
  • Receives and responds to all incoming calls.
  • Schedule appointments according to guidelines
  • Process phone notes.
  • Documentation of call is detailed and accurate.
  • Demonstrates sound judgement of escalating urgent calls.
  • Utilization of computer i.e.: scheduling module and EMR
  • Enter patient demographics.
  • Ability to multi-task with typing and talking simultaneously.
  • Routing calls appropriately
  • Utilizes CCHS HEAT methodology when service issues arise.
  • Interacts with patients, physicians and staff to provide accurate communication
  • Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices; reports to manager in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Position Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • Prior call center, customer service and medical office related experience preferred.
  • Computer and key boarding skill required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
